Workers encouraged to buy the boss's Christmas outfit

Buying a new bow tie for the boss could be one way of "sucking up" at the office Christmas party, a UK tie retailer has announced.

Tie Warehouse, which describes itself as Britain's leading online tie retailer, suggests that choosing a bow tie for an office manager to wear could be one way of getting noticed during the festive celebrations.

Plain pink designs and Christmas gift bow ties are two of the most popular items, the company states.

Ties with green frogs and musical notes also rate highly in the firm's top ten best-selling bow tie list.

"Most of the ties we sell for daytime wear are sensible – stylish pastel colours and stripes," says Gary Baker from Tie Warehouse.

"But when it comes to a 'dickie' to go with their DJ, men seem to let loose a lot more."

He adds: "If your boss always turns up to the office party in a dull pure black bow tie, buying him a more exciting bow tie would be a great way to suck up this Christmas."

Items for weddings, as well as cravats and cufflinks, are also included in Tie Warehouse's product range.
