London is to play an important part in a global fashion party taking place later this year in an attempt to get shoppers back into high street stores.
Events will be taking place in London, New York, Mumbai, Paris, Beijing and Moscow and will include special shopping evenings, discounts, workshops and freebies.
More than 125 stores in London’s West End shopping district, including Bond Street and Oxford Street, are taking part in the festival, offering a late-night shopping experience and general fashion party evening called Fashion’s Night Out. The event will take place on 10 September.
Department store icon Liberty will stay open all night offering a scarf-tying workshops from Hermes and midnight feasts from local restaurants.
Topshop stores will offer champagne and canapé receptions as people browse for a bargain and Burberry will be offering free style advise in conjunction with Vogue magazine.
London's West End hotels, including Claridge’s and The Dorchester will be offering special rates and cocktails dedicate to the shopping festival.
British Vogue’s editor, Alexandra Shulman, says “retailers and shoppers will be brought together in central London for this unprecedented feel-good occasion.
