Russia’s former president and current prime minister, Vladamir Putin, has a reputation for portraying himself as a tough guy, but it seems he has a far more sensitive and fun-loving side.
Putin, a former KGB agent and judo black-belt, hired the
Abba tribute band, Bjorn Again, to entertain party guests at the resort of Lake Valdai, north of Moscow.
The band were called up to play for the prime minister and friends and performed on a small stage amid tight security. Putin was reported to have been dancing to the
Abba classics, while dressed in a jacket and bow-tie ensemble.
“We invite people to dance along and to the delight of the band we could see Putin dancing along. He was even heard shouting out 'Bravo' after a number of songs. It appeared he had a great time," said the band’s manager, Rod Stephens.
Bjorn Again claim they were paid £20,000 for the hour-long performance, but, in keeping with his hard-man reputation, Putin’s spokesman denied that the band appeared at the venue….but we all know what really happened.
