Tips for a stress-free office Christmas party
October 4, 2010

The office Christmas party is always great fun, but there is usually someone who drinks too much, acts inappropriately or wears the wrong thing for everyone to gossip about the following Monday. Follow these simply guidelines and this won’t be you!

What to wear? Keep it simple and most importantly, wear something you feel comfortable in. We all like to look glam at the Christmas party but don’t overdo it with sky-high heels that you can’t walk, let alone dance, in. Wear a favourite party dress, suit or even just a pair of jeans, that you love and know is comfortable and flattering, and you can’t go wrong.

An important rule to follow at the office party is ‘don’t get drunk.’ The last thing you want is to be remembered as the annoying drunk at the Christmas party. This doesn’t mean laying off the booze completely, just take it easy by alternating alcoholic drinks with soft drinks and pacing yourself. Office parties often get started early and you want to be able to last the distance. It’s much more fun to be the last on the dance floor than the first going home in a taxi.
