The invitations are in the mail. The Christmas party menu has been planned. Now, what to do about decorations?
Party planners are already giving advice on how to spruce up your table for Christmas party guests. With just a few special elements, this year's decorations can be classic but festive.
Interior decorator Alison Davidson recommends layering your Christmas party table with a crisp white linen tablecloth and a runner in this season's hottest colours. Jewel tones are popular with purple, red and deep blues on the fashion and decorating lists this year.
“Festive tablemats create a special atmosphere and show off your stylish cutlery and china. There are some fabulous glass designs at the moment - whether you have a whole array for white wine, red wine and water or just one simple glass, make sure they are sparkling” says Davidson.
Other tips include using silver and gold on your table for a classic look. Christmas party guests would also be delighted with centrepieces which can be taken home as gifts. Candles, small picture frames which hold place cards or small flower arrangements in front of each setting make lovely gifts.
Decorators remind hosts that decorations do not need to cost a fortune. Simply add new accent glasses or plates to plain white for a festive look.
