Principal Hayley Hotels and Conference Venues has announced the completion of a £7 million refurbishment of the Grand Connaught Rooms in London’s Covent Garden.
The new-look venue, previously known as the New Connaught Rooms has been unveiled at a glamorous bash attended by the capital’s key event players.
Some 1,100 guests attended the launch party. Roger Devlin, the Chairman of Principal Hayley, who was there to open the venue said, “the Grand Connaught Rooms has long been one of London's most prestigious meeting places and we are delighted to have been able to relaunch it as one of Central London's largest, stylish, high-tech conferencing and banqueting venues."
The historic venue was purchased by Principal Hayley in June 2009 and the firm embarked on the ambitious refurbishment in August. The project included designs by interior designer Charles Leon to guarantee that the Grand Connaught Rooms has a real wow factor.
The work carried out included restoration of the Grand Hall, which is a fabulous venue for Christmas parties and office conferences alike. When combined with the Balmoral, these two rooms can seat over 800 people.
The venue is just a stone’s throw away from the high-end Hotel Russell, which was also purchased earlier this year by Principal Hayley, offering a very special overnight stay option after your Christmas party.
