Plan a New Year’s Eve kiss
14/08/2007

Looking for that New Year’s Eve kiss? The New Year party season is the perfect time to guarantee a kiss from someone special.

The key is to plan ahead before you starting drinking. Know who would like to talk to, stay away from and get the kiss from before you head into the party. Nick Ede, lifestyle and party planner says, “This is really important for New Year’s Eve parties. When your drunk you will only talk to those people you had planned to talk to. That saves embarrassing moments or saying to someone, ‘We were talking about you before and can’t find anyone who fancies you’.”

The next step is to bring out the right body language with your first choice for the New Year’s Eve party kiss. Relationship psychologist Dr Lisa Matthewman advises “Be confident, use eye contact and words like ‘we’ to create a bond between the two of you. You’ll feel more confident if you are sexy but mysterious, don’t go overboard too soon.”

Keep your friends in on the plan too. When the party toad corners you your friends can be there to help rescue you from him.

At New Year look for the New Year’s Eve kiss not a new relationship. “Don’t care who you kiss as long as it is someone’s lips. Don’t be looking for ever after, this isn’t the right time of the year for it – just the quick snog,” says Ede.

And remember, the big no-no for the New Year’s Eve office party is don’t go after your boss.
