Parties 'are all about fun'

 Party organisers have been advised that the event they are planning is about having fun and not just drinking alcohol.
This rule applies to office parties, including those of the Christmas variety, as well as bachelor dos and birthday shindigs, according to Tonight. There are thousands of other rules for party organisers to consider, including good food, the right guest list and suitable music, the entertainment guide suggests. Easy-to-eat food, or that which can be eaten in one mouthful, is ideal material for parties of all types, the guide continues. On the topic of who to invite, the guide states: "As for the guest list, it's probably better to invite everyone you can think of rather than leaving someone out, unless there's a very good reason." Tonight also indicates that "with the correct planning and attention to detail" guests can have a great time, but if all else fails regarding the organisation, people should call in the professionals. A recent survey from YouGov suggests pre-party preening is pointless due to the fact that three per cent of couples meet at organised celebrations.
