Original ways to reward staff at Christmas
April 30, 2010

An annual Christmas party is a must for employers that want to boost morale among staff members. In addition to this, there are some other ways to say ’thanks’ to staff at Christmas time.

Office pamper days are becoming more and more popular after starting in the US. They involve a series of treatments being offered to staff by specialist experts, including foot massage, manicures, make-up, facials and hair treatments.

Themed treat day parties are a great idea, making these events into office parties in their own right. Employers throwing mini office parties, or holding their main Christmas party during the week, should consider offer relaxing treatment and indulgent snacks the morning after.

A Bollywood theme is effective for incorporating food, drink, music and treatments in a coherent way. Henna tattooing, Indian food, cocktails, fancy dress and Indian head massage are all great additions to Bollywood parties.

Fitness and relaxation classes will also be welcome by staff members, particularly in the New Year period when everyone tries to get healthy and fit. Free or subsidised lunchtime yoga or pilates classes fit the bill perfectly, while free tickets for swimming and fitness classes at local fitness centres are fabulous Christmas gifts for staff.
