Oprah throws ultimate office party

Billionaire TV host, actress, author and executive, Oprah Winfrey has splashed out over £6.5 million on a office party of a lifetime for her employees and their families.

The chat-show queen is likely to take the unofficial title of ‘most generous boss in the world’ after spending around £3,850 on each of the 1,700 guests on the Meditarranean cruise, which they will share with Oprah who is also attending the nautical party.

The party is actually to celebrate Oprah’s 55th birthday and began with the group staying at Barcelona’s Poble Espanyol resort for three days, followed by the ten day curise taking in the sites of Istanbul, Athens, Malta, Rome, Santorini and Izmir. The groups will be travelling on the luxurious Norwegian Gem cruise liner.

While on board the families will have plently to keep them occupied and plenty of space to avoid the boss if they so wish! It comes complete with 12 restaurants, 11 bars and lounges, a pool, hot tubs, a beauty salon, spa, cigar club, library and a bowling alley.

All expenses including food, drinks, transport, accommodation and activities at the ports are covered in the party package, according to reports.

The uber-generous Oprah has previously treated her staff to an all-expenses-paid trip to Hawaii in 2005.
