Quantum of Solace director Marc Forster has revealed that the new
James Bond film will be the shortest yet: its running time is just over one hour and 40 minutes.
During recent round table interviews with reporters in London, Forster said that he had approached the new
James Bond film as a "compact emotional intense journey".
He said: "The movie is, you know, a little over an hour and 40 minutes, so it's much of a more compact emotional intense journey than
Casino.
"I don't know if [the action scenes] top
Casino Royale, but I think they work for Quantum of Solace, and throughout there's a certain intensity that's created that the movie I feel is really a ride, and it's a ride with Bond, and it's I think an intense one."
Quantum of Solace is a direct sequel to 2006's
Casino Royale. Daniel Craig stars in both films. The new film follows Bond's efforts to locate the killers of his lover Vesper Lynd in
Casino Royale.
The short running time of Quantum of Solace is unusual because
James Bond films typically run to at least two hours.
Casino Royale was nearly two and a half hours long.
