Seventy pensioners have proved that it's never too late to go wild at a Christmas party.
Women in their nineties are being threatened with Asbos following late night knees-ups and rowdy bingo evenings at their sheltered housing complex in Birmingham.
Residents of Ash Grove complex in Great Barr have now been warned that they must tone down their behaviour.
But they are determined to keep enjoying the good times. Great-gran Jean Walton, 65, moved into Ash Grove three months ago and began running bingo nights in the common room.
She said, "This won't stop me. It's good honest fun. I don't want to vegetate."
The party-loving resident also threw a flat-warming party, complete with pumping reggae music, earlier this month that went on until 2am, claim locals.
Another Ash Grove resident claims that malicious gossip has been spread by fusspots to put an end to the bingo and parties that they all enjoyed. “Why shouldn't we let our hair down a bit?' she asked.
Councillor John Lines, cabinet member for housing at Birmingham council, said, "They say that life begins at 40, but for Brummies, it clearly begins at 70."
