Rock band Muse could soon feature high up on the playlists of any office or Christmas parties themed around
James Bond.
Members of the trio have admitted they would like to record the theme tune for the follow-up to the latest
James Bond film, Quantum of Solace.
"It's something we'd probably say yes to, or at least give it a good go," drummer Dom Howard remarked to the BBC.
"Certainly some of our music fits with the
James Bond vibe - and I think it could work."
Previous Bond themes have been recorded by White Stripes frontman Jack White,
Madonna and Duran Duran, who were the last British band to provide a soundtrack with 1985's A View To a Kill.
Howard, who claims Muse bassist Chris Wolstenholme is a big
James Bond fan, said the only drawback to recording a theme would be the fact that "it's a bit weird" working in Hollywood.
"You spend a lot time being told what to do and that's a bit of a pain because we like to do what we want."
Earlier this month, a Lovefilm survey deemed current
James Bond star Daniel Craig to have the top torso in film.
