The “Worlds Largest Office Party” has just taken place in Miami, in the form the third largest 5K race in America.
The annual event attracts some 20,000 runners and firms encourage their staff to join the race by offering incentives such as celebratory feasts and free booze.
Employees from 500 different companies in Florida take part each year and race organisers were keen that people continue to take part despite the economic downturn and businesses did not disappoint, making sure they stumped up cash for the staff incentives.
The post-race party includes race entry, a free t-shirt and a free feast of Paella, veggie sandwiches and a barbecue.
Local firms claimed that they did not mind paying for the race because it's great for staff morale and fitness. Director for health and fitness at Assurant, Preston Watfirm, said, ''the corporate run has become such an important, well-loved part of our work culture that it would take a lot for us not to pay for it.''
All the profits from the charity race went to the South Florida Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
If you value staff morale and want to hold a (slightly less active) party for your staff, a specially organised event can take all the pressure off and ensure everyone has a great time and that all tastes are catered for.
