It could be a Christmas party like never before for one lucky resident of County Londonderry who has won the lottery – but only if they claim their prize.
The ticket holder has won £130,181 in the National Lottery but has not yet claimed the winnings. They have until 5.30pm on Christmas Eve to come forward. If they leave it until after the Christmas party season has ended, it will be too late.
Camelot's Catherine Jordan, speaking to the BBC, said: "We're desperate to find the mystery ticket-holder and unite them with their winnings - this really is a life-enhancing amount of money.
"Try checking in the pockets of clothing, in wallets, bags and down the back of the sofa - someone in County Londonderry could well be sitting on a small fortune. We have the champagne on ice and our fingers crossed that the lucky winner comes forward to claim the prize."
The mystery winner matched five main numbers plus the bonus ball in the draw on Wednesday, 27 June, 2007. The winning numbers on 27th June were: 7, 13, 23, 40, 41, 48, and the bonus number was 1.
National Lottery operator Camelot has confirmed the winning ticket was purchased in County Londonderry but said it could not be more specific than that.
County Londonderry has more than one resident who may be hosting a particularly lavish Christmas party this year. Two weeks ago, Denis Doherty, from the city's Waterside, won £1.6m from the Lotto jackpot.
