London partygoers will be able to visit "the best new year's eve fireworks display in the world" at the end of 2006, according to the capital's mayor Ken Livingstone.
Following the Christmas party season, the British Airways London Eye will be hosting the end-of-year extravaganza for the fourth year in a row, reports London SE1.
Jack Morton Worldwide, the London-based experiential communications agency, will be producing the show in association with pyro-technician Christophe Berthonneau.
Commenting on the event, Mr Livingstone acknowledged London's credentials over the Christmas and new year period.
"London now hosts the best new year's eve fireworks display in the world and is seen on TV by millions in Britain and tens of millions internationally," said Mr Livingstone.
"The new year's eve fireworks are another spectacle making London a wonderful city to visit over Christmas and the New Year."
The British Airways London Eye opened in London in 2000 and is visited by an average of 10,000 people a day.
