Shoppers from London and Wales believe that the most annoying thing about Christmas is that shops do not employ extra staff, a new survey reveals.
Londoners are also influenced by special price promotions, with 69 per cent of people from the capital city susceptible to these deals, a YouGov survey, commissioned by communications firm Broadsystem, shows.
However, the Welsh are the biggest bargain hunters, with three-quarters admitting to being partial to a Christmas deal, New Wales reports.
Caroline Worboys, chief executive of Broadsystem, says: "The research reveals some extremely interesting insights into the behaviour of consumers across the UK at Christmas.
"Without a doubt the Welsh are the most clued-up - they do their research, start early and secure those bargains. In contrast, the Scottish start later and tend to rely on the internet as the predominate method of sourcing and purchasing gifts."
Regional shopping trends are "definitely" experienced over the Christmas party period, Ms Worboys adds.
Christmas partygoers should be aware that there are 41 shopping days until Christmas.
