London venue goes radical

World-renowned London venue The Hayward Gallery is showcasing art from a period of groundbreaking social and political change.

The posters of the Paris uprising of May 1968 represent some of the most accomplished art works ever to have been associated with a revolutionary movement. This selection of original prints – a collection entitled May 68: Street Posters from The Paris Rebellion - coincides with London venue The Hayward's 40th birthday and celebrates the vibrant avant-garde spirit of summer 1968.

The Hayward is the perfect choice for showcasing such a radically-themed exhibition, as this London venue embraces the spirit of modernity, and displays arresting visual images from every era of art.

To support the Street Posters exhibition, The Hayward Gallery is also presenting photographs by Bruno Barbey, who produced some of the most iconic images from the Paris riots.
