The details of London’s first ever restaurant festival have been released.
London’s event scene is already jam-packed this year, with festivals and parties in many of the capital’s parks and themed street parades and cultural celebrations popping up almost every weekend. A welcome new addition will be the London Restaurant Festival, which will incorporate inventive food-themed events in many of London’s greatest venues.
The six-day festival will kick off with a Vanity Fair party at Quaglino’s, after which highlights include a gourmet Odyssey on a London Routemaster and candlelit dinners on the London Eye.
London restaurants are expected to issue Festival Menus which wlil give people the chance to eat lunches and dinners at some of the best restaurants in London at knock-down prices.
Boris Johnson, the Mayor of London, said, “London's restaurant scene is world-class, boasting a massive 6,000 eateries. The sheer scale and diversity of the capital's gastronomic delights is testament to the vibrancy of our city and the many communities living and eating here.”
Tickets for the event, which will take place between 8th and 13th October 2009, are to go on sale soon.
