Cinema fans in the West Midlands have deemed
James Bond to be their favourite film character ever.
They were questioned about the characters they admire most as part of Touchwood cinema's Movie Mania season, which is to feature fashion shows, children's events and special cinema offers.
One in six respondents said
James Bond was their favourite on-screen persona, followed by Batman and Captain Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean, played by Johnny Depp.
"We're all big film fans here at Touchwood and we thought finding out about the Midlands' favourite movies would be a great way to kick start our forthcoming Movie Mania season," the cinema's Lucy Burnett explained to Solihull News.
Almost 50 years since Sean Connery made his debut as 007, the poll marked the latest in a recent flurry of James Bond-themed activity across the globe.
Details of a James Bond: Shaken not Stirred series of concerts were announced in the US state of Michigan this week.
Kicking off this Friday (25th September), the events are to feature past and present themes from the 007 films, including Goldfinger, Live and Let Die and For Your Eyes Only, performed by an orchestra.
