How to create a Great British Christmas Party
July 7, 2010

Go down the traditional route this Christmas and wow your workers with a British Christmas Tea Party as a fun alternative to the office Christmas party.

A tea party provides the perfect, intimate setting for a small office party at any time of year, but it is particularly apt at Christmas when warming cups of tea are needed more than ever.

This style of event works well within an office or smaller venue and organisation is easy too – just get creative with decorations and mismatched crockery for a retro look.

First off, the most important element of any tea party is, of course, the tea. Many people will be fans of ordinary English breakfast, so keep a pot of that on the go.

Try out some more Christmassy-themed teas such as ginger-infused teas and cinnamon or fruit teas, ideal for cold winter days.

Finger food is the ideal accompaniment for tea, so serve traditional favourites such as cucumber sandwiches cut into dainty triangles, delicate pastries and scones with jam and clotted cream.

Invest in some scented Christmas candles to make the office feel festive and make your own decorations out of dried cranberries and popcorn strung onto twine and hung from the ceiling.

Fairy lights can also help to create a party atmosphere in the workplace.
