For Christmas party guests who want to jazz up their look, stylists recommend an ‘up-do.’ Kingsley Parker of Ginger Group Hair in London says: “A Christmas party is the perfect time to wear your hair up. It’s festive and establishes a classic look.”
The Christmas party glamorous ‘up-do’ should be chic and sophisticated but not too stiff. John Carne Hairdressing says to “Keep your style looking loose and soft to give your overall look an effortless seductive finish. Letting the odd strand of hair fall around your nape or face gives this look a delicate, flirty edge.”
Clean hair, curled with hot rollers can be pulled into a high ponytail for a quick, easy Christmas party up-do. For a more sophisticated look, pin the curls on top of the head to create a ‘crown of curls.’
Another way to create a glamorous look for Christmas is to try a new colour. Soft hues of brown are popular this year and seen on designer runways such as Chloe and Fendi. Darker colours can be added in as low-lights to update washed out summer hair. Parker says: “Colour-treated hair should be maintained using products designed to keep it looking vibrant.”
