Legendary artsy London venue Proud Camden re-opened its doors earlier this month, with a spectacular launch party.
The celebrated music-photography venue, owned by outrageous impresario Alex Proud, re-launched with an exhibition from cult film director Mike Figgis. This was followed by photographs of Sid Vicious, taken by one of the punk icon's best friends.
The gallery at Proud is open 11am-7pm six days a week, and until 6pm on Sundays. Entrance is always completely free.
This London venue displays and sells its photography, at prices ranging from £20- £20,000, but there's much more to it than just that. It also boasts facilities for bands to perform, as well as a stylish and much-frequented bar.
The re-launching of London venue Proud this month signifies the successful resurgence of Camden, and of exhilarating new creative experiences for all.
Proud is also famed for attracting more than its fair share of celebrities, including Amy Winehouse and the Arctic Monkeys.
Augmenting the artistic achievements of this London venue is its bar – open 'til late –which is based on a 'ski-chalet' theme (even including stags' heads on the walls!). The bar provides an animated, vibrant environment in which to drink, socialise and perhaps even spot a Monkey or two.
