Dylan to bring in the new year
23/11/2006

New Year's Eve marks the start of a new Bob Dylan series, which will be broadcast on BBC's digital rock station 6 Music.

The show, which entails the folk music singer playing his favourite songs for the listening audience, will run every Friday from January 12th but showcases on New Year's Eve, the BBC reports.

Partygoers may wish to listen to the programme before heading out to their new year parties across London.

BBC Radio 2 will also be offering Dylan fans previews of the series in the lead up to December 31st, broadcasting a number of festive programmes.

Dylan says of his show: "A lot of my own songs have been played on the radio, but this is the first time I've ever been on the other side of the mic."

The shows include a mix of music from different genres, as well as interviews and reviews.

Dylan was once called "Judas" for returning for the second half his set with an electric guitar during a Manchester concert in 1966.
