England striker Jermain Defoe is thought to be planning a World Cup reunion party in London for members of the national squad.
The England team were unceremoniously dumped out of the competition last Sunday after losing to the Germans, a result which is likely to have brought several London parties to a premature end.
Many football fans may think the team have little to celebrate, but it seems a night of revelry is on the cards before the players go on holiday.
Defoe – who usually earns his wages with Tottenham Hotspur – is said to be arranging the special bash in the capital this Saturday to put the smiles back on their faces.
"The boys have been holed up in training camps in Austria and South Africa over the past few weeks," said a source.
"They haven't had the opportunity to really let off steam so they planned a get-together once England were knocked out."
It is thought that fellow England players such as Aaron Lennon and Shaun Wright-Phillips will be among the guests at the football bash.
