The recent winner of reality TV show How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria? Connie Fisher could be set to play a part in the Christmas music charts, following the initial success of her new album.
Ms Fisher's producers saw the opportunity to appeal to the Christmas-shopper market by releasing the album Favourite Things as festive sales begin to increase, reports the Western Mail.
If sales of her album continue to perform well as the party season approaches, it could result in a number of tracks being played at this year's office Christmas parties.
Gennaro Castalada, from music store HMV's central office, said: "It's doing very well in all our stores, the Oxford Circus store particularly.
"It's in the West End, which tends to do well with musicals and show tunes."
He added that the album has reached third place in the specialist chart this week.
Ms Fisher won the reality TV show at the end of September and will now appear in Andrew Lloyd Webber's new production of The Sound of Music.
The 23-year-old will appear in every night of the musical, following the withdrawal of the shows stand-in singer Emma Williams.
