Christmas tiredness leads to New Year’s Eve love-making
15/08/2007

More and more couples are finding that tiredness, stress and Christmas overindulgence is having an effect on their sex lives.

A survey in 2006 by the sex products company Ann Summers found that a huge 59% of women and men stated that were pretty unlikely to have a Christmas party bedroom romp due to overindulgence.

The Christmas New Year period was a time of increased stresses and fatigue. With more of a chance of arguing and tiredness putting a damper on any potential love-making.

Out of over 6,000 respondents at least six out of 10 couples stated that they won’t be enjoying the benefits of standing under some mistletoe because of overeating or being too drunk.

Christmas and New Year is also a time when the family comes to stay. Having the in-law’s staying in the bedroom next door also hinders the sex drives of UK couples.

The stress of Christmas shopping, present wrapping and organising the Christmas dinner and decorations has depleted nine out of 10 UK women’s sexual appetites.

70% of men in the Ann Summers survey stated that Christmas was the annual low for their sex lives.

After all the fuss, stress and overindulgence of the Christmas period New Year’s Eve parties are seen as the light at the end of the tunnel. Nearly 66% of couples stated that they would make up for the lack of Christmas love-making with a New Year’s Eve party bedroom romp.

While you’re planning your Christmas festivities make some time for your special someone. A Christmas day walk and some along time on New Year’s Eve will ensure your relationship survives the festive season.
