Christmas shoppers offered time-saving tips

Those starting their Christmas preparations early have been advised use the internet for shopping and to set themselves a budget.

Additionally, those who want to forget about shopping in December and concentrate on the festivities, such as Christmas parties, should start their purchasing as early as possible, according to Moving Manchester.

Further tips given on preparing for the festive season include utilising others to do the shopping.

The magazine suggests that people can use family and friends to do their shopping, as well as Selfridges Golden Gift gurus.

The department store is offering a service whereby customers indicate their buying requirements before staff take control of finding the gifts.

This allows shoppers more time to search around for outfits they may be able to wear to their office Christmas party.

Moving Manchester also suggests that buying generic presents, such as candles, bottles and "nice olive oil" will prepare individuals who receive unexpected gifts and need to return the favour.

There are currently 95 shopping days to Christmas.
