A Fenland pub celebrated the festive season early last week, as it put on an August bank holiday Christmas party for its punters.
Reminding the party visitors that Christmas is less than four months away, the Red Lion pub in Soham erected an eight-foot inflatable snowman and Santa Claus on its roof to mark the celebrations, reports the Cambridge Evening News.
Presents and cards were opened around the Christmas tree, and landlord of the high-street pub, Alan Tucker, hopes that everyone enjoyed themselves, the publication states.
Mr Tucker, 33, told the newspaper: "Everyone thought I was mad.
"I have to work every Christmas so I don't normally get to enjoy it properly. So I thought I would for a change. I did it because I could."
Christmas party gifts were issued at the pub, including pub lighters and joke presents, as well as 200 Christmas cards.
Food was served from a barbeque and the cold weather made it seem like winter, the newspaper suggests.
