A smooth dark beer, with "a hint of caramel" could be the drink of Christmas parties this coming festive season, following a new Carlsberg launch.
The Danish brewer is aiming to bring a trend from its country of origin to the pubs, shops and parties of London, with a specially brewed Christmas beer, reports Checkout magazine.
Carlsberg will be providing customers and partygoers with the limited edition lager soon, a move that has never been made in the UK before, the company claims.
Furthermore, Carlsberg suggests that the drink has been specifically adapted for the British taste.
Darran Britton, marketing director at Carlsberg UK, said: "Christmas beers have been a tradition in Denmark for hundreds of years and play a major part in the festive season.
"We have taken a traditional Danish recipe for Christmas beer and adapted it to suit the British palate. It is therefore a unique product, developed for the UK market."
Last week, Plymouth Gin announced it was releasing a new bottle design in time for Christmas, advertising the product as ideal for party cocktails.
