Children's charity Barnardo's is asking consumers for £10 each this coming festive season, in order to send youngsters to Christmas parties across the country.
Furthermore, by donating £30 consumers can help young disabled people enjoy an all-activity day out during the Christmas period, reports the Guardian.
Adding to the Christmas spirit, individuals can register at the Alternative Christmas List, which enables them to choose charities of their choice to donate gifts to over the Christmas party season.
Family and friends can then access log-in details and use the money they would have spent on relatives and other close ones to purchase presents for those more in need.
Another charity aiming to take advantage of the giving season is Save the Children, which has launched an online Christmas Wish List. The campaign follows Oxfam's Unwrapped gift campaign of 2005.
Website retail-charity.com is enabling this year's Christmas shoppers to buy gifts, with up to 50 per cent of their expenditure going to chosen charities.
