Although it’s usually found at children’s parties, bubble-blowing is taking off as a major craze on the London party scene, according to recent reports.
London-based bubbleologist (yes, that’s the scientific term), Sam Heath, also calls himself SamSam Bubbleman and has found his bubble-blowing services increasingly in demand of late.
His skills have been called upon by organisers of parties and festivals around the UK and he has even made appearances at exclusive London clubs and private Christmas and office parties.
Heath, who runs his own bubble company called Bubble Inc. says, “There has been huge interest in us recently. We have just had to employ our first full-time member of staff at Bubble HQ.”
It seems that recent events such as Heath’s record-breaking bubble-blowing attempt in Finsbury Park has upped the profile of this entertaining and sometimes mesmerising form of entertainment. It is then perhaps no coincidence that three of the fourth-plinth occupiers involved in Anthony Gromley’s One & Other project in the West End’s Trafalgar Square have also blown bubbles.
