As the Christmas party season draws closer, Brits say they are worried about money.
A report published by Alliance & Leicester shows that nearly 20% of UK citizens are stressed out about money on a daily basis and another 30 per cent think about their finances a few times each week.
Concerns about buying presents and getting ready for the Christmas party season have Brits deeply concerned about their levels of debt and finances in general, new research has shown. 40 per cent of people said that they worry more about finances in the weeks and months before holidays. 50 percent report they get nervous around the Christmas party season when funds are usually sparse.
"Money is obviously a topic at the forefront of most people' minds," commented Andy Bayes, head of current accounts at Alliance & Leicester.
Despite these concerns about lack of money around holiday and Christmas party time and increased debt, those polled say they have no plans to change spending behavior or curb debts. In fact, Alliance & Leicester report some people do not even open their bank statements.
"Regardless of whether money worries stem from managing day to day finances or finding the money in the run up to special times of the year, it's crucial people check that their bank account is working hard for them" says Bayes.
