British bakery expecting busy Christmas
13/09/2006

Cake sales are predicted to increase during the countdown to Christmas, according to British bakery Inter Link Foods.

The company, which is the largest maker of the traditional festive snack, the mince pie, indicates that product orders are already high.

Inter Link states that Christmas orders are in line with company predictions and strong end-of-year profits are expected, as consumers buy their stock for Christmas parties and similar celebrations.

Executive chairman Alwin Thomspon said: "We continue our investment in new product development, the life blood of our business, and in new people who bring experience, knowledge and new skills to drive the business forward.

"Present indications are that our results for the current financial year will be in line with market expectations and I am confident that we can look forward to another successful year."

Inter Link Foods operates from 12 bakery sites throughout the UK and has a further bakery located in Szczecin, Poland.
