Boris gets his groove on at Christmas party
July 26, 2010

Mayor of London Boris Johnson has revealed his penchant for dancing up a storm at Christmas parties in a recent interview.

Boris, who this morning launched 'Big Dance,' a week-long series of events designed to get Londoners up and moving, likes to strut his stuff on the dance floor.

“There's a tradition at City Hall which is that the mayor has to lead off the annual Christmas dance with the head of the London Assembly, which meant I had to dance with Darren Johnson at the last one.

“That was more of a traditional thing. But I'm willing to strut my funky stuff across the board. The Rolling Stones are guaranteed to get me going.

“I tend to be bolder towards the end of an evening. If someone plays the Stones' Start Me Up then the beast is unleashed and there's a serious danger of embarrassment,” he added.

Boris also revealed that he wouldn't mind 'having a tilt' at becoming Prime Minister one day in the future.

“Maybe when I'm older. Perhaps when I'm 70, I wouldn't rule out having a tilt at [becoming Prime Minister]. I'd like to think I'll still be full of beans at that age.”
