The Clydesdale Bank, which has its heritage in Scotland, hosted a huge event last week to celebrate Burns Night.
The party was held at the Royal Berkshire Conference Centre venue and the bank invited staff and member of the Thames Valley business community to the feast.
Burns night takes place each year to celebrate the life of the Scottish poet Robert Burns and involves the consumption of traditional food and drink including haggis.
This year’s Burns Night was especially important to Scots as it marked 250 years since the much-loved poet was born.
The extravagant event involved partners of the firm’s ten financial solutions centres, all based in the south of England. Neil McCluskey, the bank’s managing partner said it was a 'fantastically entertaining evening', adding, 'although we work in southern England we are proud of the Bank’s
Scottish heritage and Burns Night is the perfect opportunity for the region’s financial solutions centres and key referral partners to get together'.
The traditional Scottish feast was followed by a Scottish dancing demonstration and a disco, after which the 300 guests sang the traditional Scottish song, Auld Lang Syne.
