Abba’s Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus are heading up a list of stars appearing in Hyde Park this September in a concert of
Abba music called 'Thank You For The Music'.
Benny and Bjorn have been confirmed artists for the concert for some time but details of some of the other singers and musicians appearing have just been released.
Opera singer Russell Watson, Helen Sjoholm, from the Benny Andersson Band, and Jason Donovan have all been confirmed to belt out
Abba classics at the Radio 2-hosted event later in the summer.
In addition, Lulu, Elaine Paige and the cast of hit west-end musical Mama Mia! will also be performing at the event and singing the band’s most famous songs.
Benny Andersson spoke to BBC Radio last weekend and confirmed that he had asked Eurhythmics singer, Annie Lenox, to appear. He said he wants her to sing the song, ‘The Day Before You Came.’
Although there have been plenty of rumours that the band may reform as their former four-strong line-up with Anna and Frida, the two women have not been mentioned as possible appearances at the concert.
