A writer for the Atlanta Georgia Journal-Constitution is encouraging Americans to head to Europe for the Christmas party and holiday season. This comes despite the dollar showing a low comparison rate to the Euro and the Pound.
An American Christmas party in the UK or Europe would allow for a more cultural holiday experience according to Journal-Constitution writer, Clara Bosonetto Maerz.
She writes: “Why not make this year unique and skip the canned music and pushy mall crowds? Visit a French, German or Austrian Christmas market and see where most of our modern-day [Christmas party] traditions stem from.”
Travel companies in the US recommend Americans who plan to fly to London for the Christmas season buy gifts before they arrive and ship them over to save money.
UK travel specialists are reminding visitors from abroad that Christmas party arrangements need to be booked months in advance, including accommodation. Flights should be booked as early as possible to access the cheaper fares.
