Add some magic to your Christmas party
July 30, 2010

Good old traditional magic is increasingly being used as a means of corporate entertainment, according to one successful magician.

Nick Crown has performed his illusions at events for leading global companies including Apple and Disney. He said a substantial amount of his work now comes from the corporate sector, with particular success at office parties where the element of intrigue instantly attracts a crowd.

"There is no better sight than seeing people crowd around and interact with a top magician as he or she makes everyone around them gasp with amazement," he said. "It would have to take a truly amazing singer to get a similar response."

While he enjoys a consistent flow of work at trade shows and team building workshops, Christmas parties are forming an increasingly lucrative part of his employment year, and he tailors his act accordingly.

"Quality magicians will be able to adapt their show to fit your product and really make it stand out from the crowd," he added. "They will not simply offer an old fashioned card trick show that turns off potential clients."

Nick explained that if people are unused to unwinding with their work colleagues, a key part of a magician's appeal is being able to break down those initial barriers and get people interact in the social sphere.

"Top magicians will walk around and mix with different groups so that every one of your guests gets an up close and personal experience with a top performer," he said.
