Abba have provided inspiration for a fundraising party dubbed "really brilliant" by attendees who dressed up like their favourite members of the legendary Swedish group.
The Spencer Sports and Social Club in Melksham was the setting for the Abba-themed bash, organised in aid of local charities Wiltshire Air Ambulance, Dorothy House Hospice and Cancer Research.
Abba fan Sarah Chappell said there was a disco, karaoke and raffle at the party, with the raffle alone producing £500 for the revellers' chosen causes.
"The night was pretty much a sell-out and very good fun," she told the Wiltshire Times.
"We have all known people that have been touched by illnesses like cancer, so helping to raise money for those charities was perfect."
Meanwhile, original
Abba member Benny Andersson has poured cold water on claims that the group's music will feature in a possible sequel to hit movie Mamma Mia!
Rumours began to circulate about a second
Abba musical after Mamma Mia! star Meryl Streep quipped that she wouldn't mind appearing in a "Grand Mamma Mia" with her original co-stars.
According to Benny, however, the
Abba back catalogue won't be available for use if a sequel does happen.
