‘Thank You For The Music - A Celebration of the Music of Abba’ is to take place on 13 September this year, it has been announced.
The huge tribute gig will feature Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus of the great 70's pop band and will also feature other famous guest stars singing the band’s classic pop hits.
In a statement for the BBC, Benny and Bjorn said they were thrilled that BBC Radio 2 was staging such a tribute in their honour. They said, "this must be the greatest honour that can be bestowed on any songwriter. We are absolutely delighted and we hope thousands of Radio 2 listeners will join us there.”

Abba line-up has been asked to take over Michael Jackson’s ill-fated 50-date residency at epic London venue, the O2 arena. They said they had not been asked by AEG Live to do the gigs and if they had, they would have turned the offer down.
