A December diet 'could spark a new year's resolution'
28/11/2006

Dieting and eating healthily in December can help encourage a new year's resolution at the turn of the year, it has been argued.

Having a healthy late breakfast and a nutritious late dinner at various times during the festive period can also help reduce calorific intake, according to the Burlington Free Press.

Furthermore, drinking vegetable juice or beef broth can stave of the hunger that may become painful, the publication states.

The newspaper also indicates that becoming a December vegetarian can help get people on the way to healthier eating habits in the new year.

Additionally, it suggests that consumers should experiment with different methods in order to find the holiday eating habits that best suit their needs in the run-up to New Year's Eve.

The Food Standards Agency advises UK residents not to forget to eat healthily as the party season begins, suggesting a Christmas Day breakfast containing nuts and fruit.
